Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick have both moved on in the year-and-a-half since their engagement ended, but that doesn't mean she's not going to sugarcoat things.
On the Thursday, April 3 episode of her podcast, Off the Vine, Bristowe, 39, shared a rare reflection on the three-and-a-half-year relationship as she admitted to feeling "very used" by Tartick, 36 — a sentiment she said "he knew" she felt.
"Although my house was paid off, I would have to go to him on the first of every month being like, 'Can you split bills?' That makes me feel cheap," Bristowe claimed. "We had both very similar income. I felt like he was, like, riding a wave."

"And I'm not saying he didn't love me because I think he did, also unsure, but it felt like [he was] riding coattails, riding a wave, [to get to] where he wanted to get to."
Bristowe added, "And I think why he was so broken about the relationship was because he didn't know who he was without me. And I think he still is really working on who he is without a dog, a girlfriend, a something."
Tartick declined PEOPLE's request for comment.
Bristowe said later in the episode that she's "very much over" Tartick, who proposed to her in May 2021 and they split a year-and-a-half later, as she said she "ended the relationship" because "it felt icky to me."
"It felt like everything was for Instagram and numbers. I did not wanna be in it," she said. "What I want out of life is not what he wants."
"This will probably be the last time I will ever speak on him ever again because I didn't for so long and that felt really good because I had let it go."

Bristowe has been open in the past about how her ex's career change affected their relationship. After Tartick lost his banking job and took what she called a "face-first dive into influencer life," things got rocky, she said on the Almost Adulting with Violet Benson podcast last June, given that she'd established right off the bat that she wanted to be with a man who didn't "want to be an influencer."
"I said, 'This is really hard for me 'cause it was gonna be a non-negotiable, but I love you and I'm gonna look past this because you're a good person and I think you might be my person,'" Bristowe said.

When Tartick started his own podcast, which was the one thing she'd asked him not to do, it created "this resentment and betrayal feeling," she said.
“I had a full panic attack because I felt like I wasn’t chosen and that my feelings were not worth over money for him."
